I just adore when families get together and want to document this time together with a photo session. Celebrating this gorgeous mama of this family, we got together to celebrate her 70th birthday. I honestly don’t believe she is 70! Can I have her skin when I am 70? But I digress. I just had the most fun documenting this family at the gorgeous Medard Park in Plant City. The mossy trees, beautiful sunlight, gorgeous huge trees that look prehistoric and so unique, yes please! Their fun and colorful, Florida-esque wardrobe really solidfied the celebratory photo session. I love that they were not afraid of color or pattern. I just find if everyone is wearing plain or similar types of fabric, or all neutrals in every photo session, it can get a bit boring. Don’t get me wrong, a neutral palette is gorgeous too if done right, but if every session I do is all neutrals, it gets old. So I am celebrating this colorful session just like turning 70 surrounded by your family should be celebrated, right?

I know losing my dad when my kids were three, we are so thankful for the family photos we have with both sets of grandparents for the kids. They are truly priceless. The boys don’t remember much about “Grandpa Pickles” but they do remember the stories we have passed on, particularly with the photos we have with them all together.
