I loved getting to see this family and document their time on vacation together in Florida so much. This Indian Rocks Beach extended family photo session was just the most fun on the most gorgeous night ever. Literally the water was so crystal clear and calm on this night, it was such a wonderful setting for this family getting together for vacation. What a way to kick of vacation with some family vacation photos. I loved every second of this session and my cheeks hurt by the end I was smiling and laughing so much. I felt immedately welcomed by this family, the littles were so full of love and joy and just pure happiness that the session was full of more authentic moments that made my job of culling images very hard. I probably over delivered all the little moments in between the more set up images, and honestly, that is what gets my photographer’s soul inspired anyway, so it is a win-win for everyone. Documenting the way families feel is my dream. These moments are what matters. Trust me, over the perfect outfit, the perfect hair, the perfect smiles. Feeling connected, seeing love on a still photograph, that is what truly matters in the end.

I haven’t been to Indian Rocks Beach in years. I know our Gulf beaches are all lovely so I will photograph anywhere. Some areas of the beach are just more densely populated than others. So, if you are heading to Tampa and are looking to do family photos while enjoying our beautiful weather and beautiful beaches, it definitely pays to look at where you are staying to get the right fit for your family’s needs. Are you an eat out every night bunch, then St. Petersburg or Clearwater may be for you. Are you a family that wants to stay in and cook in your own unit/home, then places like Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key or Indian Rocks Beach may be a better fit. Not that there are not dining options there, too, but they have less hussle and busle compared to St. Pete/Clearwater. Additionally, if you don’t want 100 other people at your photo session, it may be better to look at stretches of beach with smaller properties for rent. Not hotel after hotel after hotel, or bar after bar after bar. I can certainly do my best to cut down on strangers in your photos, but I know with littles, having one hundred other beach goers or bar patrons right next to you may make you and your family less self concious of all eyes on your as we document your time at the beach.

A session that can end with me in the water and letting kids be kids, big and small kids alike, I am here for it! If you are looking for a beachy family photo session, I am now taking bookings for for August 2022 and later! Email me today to discuss what kind of beach session is right for you today!

One of the best parts of being a photographer is meeting other supportive photographers. Today we are each sharing a little bit of each other’s work with a blog circle. Today, I am sharing Beth’s Hocking Hills Wedding blog showcasing an outdoor wedding in Hocking Hills, Ohio. Please follow the circle around to see some fun photo sessions from all over!
