Maternity Photos Tampa | Medard Park Pictures

Well aren’t they the cutest family ever? I am so glad we met up at Medard Park in Plant City to capture these maternity photos in Tampa. I love this location as you can probably tell if you have followed me for a while. While fall is usually the best time of year for photos at this lush Tampa location. That way the greenery has filled in all summer, but here this time in the spring with no humidity, it is also a great Tampa photo spot. Summer, nope, this location is not for me, thanks! It get too buggy and steamy, but right now, it is absolutely worth the short drive outside of Tampa to visit Medard Park for pictures.

This darling family is expecting baby girl number two soon, and while their first born cutie missed out on newborn photos, we did not miss the opportunity to document her as a big start of the maternity photo shoot. Maternity photos can be just focused on mamas but I absolutely love when a family session is also a focus. This is a big moment before their family dynamic changes. I loved how animated their little one was, and can we just stop and appreciate this dad for a second. He was so happy to be playing with his daughter and cuddling both his sweet ladies in his life. The cutest right?

Of course we can’t forget mama, right? This expectant mama was truly glowing. Her floral maternity dress and the family’s style was perfect for a spring maternity session. I loved how they all dressed to the same level, too. Dad’s jacket was great for a few shots and then once they were in full play mode he could relax a bit, too. I couldn’t pick a favorite from this session if I tried, but these two shots were two of my faves of the mama on her own. They are set in the same spot but you can see how dramatically different they are. The first one was a deep and rich edit of the beautiful light and tree framing her. Then, I ended up incorporating one of my favorite tricks to change a photo up quickly, I shot through some flowers from the setting. The flowers gave a green diffused glow in the lower part of the frame. This actually threw off the focus, but the out of focus and how this shot feels makes it one of my faves from the session for sure!

I am currently taking fall maternity and newborn clients. If you are looking ahead for fall, definitely reach out at least six weeks before you are looking for your session. Particularly if you need a weekend session for the maternity photos. I love to document women and their strength and beauty at this time of your life that is like no other phase of my life I have ever experienced!

Again above, you can see a white haze on the left side, that is from holding little white flowers in front of my frame. It adds to the softness and feminitiy of motherhood, right?
