This session right here just goes to to show you that fancy dresses, extra costly outfits that match perfectly are not neccessary to get great family photos. If your family is a jeans and t-shirt kind of family, of course that is cool in my book. I won’t make you wear anything you don’t love. I don’t make you pick from a client closet of fancy dresses. No, you can be yourselves. Of course I am here for some guidance but generally there is something in your closet that can work. You don’t all have to match. But rather coordinate is better. However, being authentically you and documenting that in lovely photos is always my goal. No matter what your wardrobe is. Connections, moments and fun is what these pictures are about in the end. You don’t want to look back and think, man that was so stressful, right? You seeing your family documented in photos you can look back 100 million times on if you like is what I want to help Tampa families do.

Medard Park pictures for an extended family photo session is always a fave, too. They do require a film permit for over five family members, but I always take care of that so we can show up and take the photos and have some fun doing it. This part of the park is a newer to me section and I loved the Spanish moss peaking through the trees. The other part I normally photograph families at is looking a bit rough, with so much dryness in our area, it is just struggling. However, I was early so I was able to pivot quickly to another section of the park and I think this area will be a holiday mini-session location this fall, too! With a 96 year old great-grandmother at the session, my goal is also making it easy to walk and get to, and while this spot required a few more steps to get to, it was worth it and we had a chair to let this gorgeous woman rest when she needed to as well. Plus the extra bonus fro Medard Park for family pictures is all family members, even your dogs, are welcome to come. They need to be on their leash, but they have lots of space to spread out and there aren’t a ton of other dogs there, so it is a great photo location in Tampa for dogs, too!

details of childhood pictures, hamilton creek photography

these two photos would hang on my wall if they were my little ones: the little details that will completely change in just a few short years are always something to celebrate and look back on fondly <3
