Two thing that makes me happy are springtime and newborn baby photos. Put them together in an outdoor newborn session in spring, well, it is pretty much heaven on Earth for me. This family was lucky enough to be gifted a petite newborn session with me after we consulted to make sure we were a good fit. I love when friends and family want to gift photo sessions, but often enough they go unused, so I always talk to the recipient first to make sure they love my style as much as their family member or friend! This was a great fit, with this family living super close by and having a weekend morning free shortly after baby arrived to snuggle and love on each other in my favorite litttle wildflower field in Riverview. Here are a just a few favorites from the session that took less than an hour of time. Which is great for a newborn and really great for toddlers who would rather be playing than smiling for a camera. Thankfully, we were able to incorporate play into the session so he and I became good pals by the time this was over.

As a Riverview newborn photographer, taking the stress out of family photos. This is even more particularly true for newborn photos with a toddler sibling. Here are a few tips to get that stress free photo vibe. First, let’s set up your session when your kiddo is happiest. For newborns, that usually means earlier in the morning and definitely not during the “witching” hour that happens in the early evening; most parents know exactly what I am talking about. For toddlers this is again, typically the morning, or a little while after they wake up from their nap. Setting your newborn photo session up in the right enviroment helps too. If you are worried your house is too cramped, too dark or just too much to welcome me as a stranger into, that is fine. I can offer ideas for a shaded spot that is safe and easy around your house so you don’t even have to travel far. Being in business almost 12 years means I have lots of go to spots for mornings and evening sessions. If your kiddos on the other hand are happier in their home setting, that works for me, too. With enough notice, I can also rent out a studio space for a nominal fee so you don’t have to worry about your lighting, crowded houses or outdoor sessions when it gets too hot outside!
